StruCompare gives building designers a user-friendly platform to explore and compare Timber, Steel, Concrete & other Structural options.
Instantly access a range of complete structural floor designs.
Compare Timber, Steel and Concrete floor depth and beam design, visualizing their impact on your building.
Facilitate communication with structural engineers by providing a clear foundation for cost comparison.
The intent of this tool is for preliminary design. Complex or unique scenarios such as transfer beams, cantilevers or large scale lateral stability are not considered.
A. Columns are created so that the 'Max. Span' in the direction of the member is not exceeded. They will also 'snap' to internal walls if they are present.
Q. How can I move a column?
A. The easiest way is to 'drag and drop' them by using the [Move Columns] function. You can also change the 'Max. Span' values because often a larger values will remove columns.
Q. What are the Timber Sizes used?
A. Width can be set in the parameters. Depth depends on the material and locale.
Standard Depths (Australia/NZ): 90, 120, 140, 190, 240, 290

UPLOAD TIPS
PDF
PDF is the easiest way to get building information onto the application. Once you select a PDF page, you will be able to measure scale and draw an outline of the frame area.
CAD
CAD is now treated the same as PDF uploads and can be drawn over as a background once uploaded.
All format should be DXF or DWG.
